The Orange British Academy Film Awards

Orange British Academy Film Awards

The Academy's Film Awards began in 1947 and continue to be presented annually to recognise, honour and reward individuals for outstanding achievement in films produced worldwide and released in cinemas.

The Orange British Academy Film Awards will be held on Sunday 10 February at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden. The event, hosted by Jonathan Ross, promises to be bigger and better than ever and the ceremony will be broadcast around the world and on the BBC in the UK.

We are delighted to confirm that Orange have renewed their sponsorship of the Awards for a further two years, having sponsored the event for ten years to date.

The Awards in 2008 also see the return of 60 Seconds of Fame , the short filmmaking competition for members of the public, the publicly-voted Orange Rising Star Award honouring the next star to light up the silver screen and the Film Awards Tour in association with The Daily Telegraph and Cineworld.

Voting for the Film Awards began in December and the nominations were announced at the Academy's headquarters on Wednesday 16 January. Watch Naomie Harris and Kelly Reilly announce the nominees (see below) or read the full list of nominations .
