Shaun the Sheep, Basil Brush, Raven, children's TV presenters joined a host of film talent in our special me and my movie/BAFTA tent at this year's London Mayor's Thames Festival. They were all there to promote the CBBC me and my movie award in association with BAFTA, a joint initiative with BBC Learning to inspire and enable children to make their own films.
Young actors Anna Popplewell (The Chronicles of Narnia), James and Oliver Phelps (Harry Potter) and Georgia Groome and Eleanor Tomlinson (Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging) were on hand to take questions from the audience.
There were also presentations by industry experts including visual effects supervisor Ben Morris (The Golden Compass), stunt co-ordinator Vic Armstrong and the ever-popular Aardman animators. Property master Barry Wilkinson also took a close up look at Harry Potter props.
Me and my movie is a young film-makers' competition for 6-14-year-olds. Entrants can enter individually or as a group to make an original film of no more than two minutes' duration on the subject and in the genre of their choice. Click here for more information...
