In this year's BAFTA Kids’ Vote, children cast over 425,000 votes for their favourite Film, TV Show, Video Game and Website .
For the third year running we gave children a say as kids aged between 7 and 14 voted for their favourite Film, TV show, Video Game and Website of the last twelve months.
The BAFTA Kids’ Vote is the only award to be voted for by the public and the four category winners were announced at the EA British Academy Children’s Awards on Sunday 29 November.

BAFTA / Brian RitchieThis year’s voting site was bigger and better than ever, letting children explore the nominations in a fully interactive environment. Plus, they can team up with friends to play an online game and win goodies from all the shortlisted titles.
Over 425,000 votes were cast in the four categories - twice as many as last year. Disney's Hannah Montana picked up the Film and Television prizes whilst the video game category was won by Wii Sports Resort and children voted Club Penguin their favourite website of 2009.
Although voting has now closed, you can still experience the site at www.baftakidsvote.com
In 1997, when the BAFTA Kids’ Vote made its debut in the Children's Awards, children were running home from school to watch Kipper and Basil Brush. The one prize, voted for by children themselves, was for their favourite television programme.
Five years later, the popular vote went for the first time to a Feature Film starring a little bespectacled boy whose magical powers brought millions of children flocking to their local multiplex.
Today’s children still love the magic of cinema and stick their favourite TV heroes onto their bedroom walls, but many of those bedrooms now also house a computer and certainly some kind of games console.
What a great opportunity then for the Academy to embrace this rich diversity of children’s media. For the first time, children get to have their say in a nationwide poll to choose their favourite film, television programme, website and video game.
To create the voting shortlists, we compile the top children's films at the box office, the highest-rated terrestrial and multichannel programmes, the most visited websites and the top-selling children’s video games. We then ask a panel of Children’s media experts including writers and presenters and two young reporters aged 10 and 12 to whittle them down to four top-ten lists. The full shortlist, including winners, is:
