Hear renowned British director Anthony Minghella give the first Gerry O'Halloran Lecture on morality in film fiction in 1997.
On the 3 April 1997, Anthony Minghella, Director of The English Patient, The Talented Mr Ripley and Cold Mountain gave the first Gerry O'Halloran Lecture. Chaired by Duncan Kenworthy.
About Gerry O'Halloran
Gerry O'Halloran was a long standing member of the Academy from 1965 to 1995.
His career in film included working alongside the Shell Film Unit for Shell International before moving on to the BFI where he spent many years.
Following his death, BAFTA members launched the Gerry O’Halloran Memorial Appeal and a series of film lectures were established in his name. The first lectures took place on 3 April 1997 with Anthony Minghella and on 16 June 1998 with Jack Valenti.
