BAFTA Crew is a professional network that gives you access to the best established film industry talent and a network of fellow professionals.
Applications for BAFTA Crew are now closed and the 200 participants for 2013 have been selected.
BAFTA Crew is a professional network that aims to help to launch the careers of our participants in the film or television industry. Participants are some of the brightest crew talent in the English regions.
Working in association with Skillset Craft and Technical Skills Academy and Creative England, BAFTA has created a year-long networking and skills development programme for 200 'below the line' film and TV professionals.
For a small joining fee of £25, participants gain access to attend live masterclasses with some of the film industry’s established HoDs, drawn from a pool of BAFTA winners and nominees, as well as an exclusive series of online mini-masterclasses focusing on a range of craft and technical subjects.
Crafts skills covered include Camera, Art Department, Sound, Costume, Post-production (VFX and Editing), Hair and Make-up or Production Management. Masterclass content will emphasise feature film production, but BAFTA Crew is open to professionals with experience in TV too.
The programme is for those living outside of London in the English regions. For any questions about BAFTA Crew please email BAFTAcrew@bafta.org
The core programme is a series of live and online masterclasses.

Gladiator editor Pietro Scalia demonstrates his craft as part of a masterclass event at BAFTA Live masterclasses will be delivered by major BAFTA winning and nominated HoDs from Camera, Art, Sound, Costume, Post-production (VFX and Editing) and Hair and Make-up. Members will help shape the content of the sessions by suggesting questions ahead of the masterclass.
These sessions will have value not only for those working in the same department, but also for Crew members across the departments who want to build a better understanding of their colleagues work and use the masterclasses to build networks with professionals at a similar level in the industry.
The online mini-masterclasses will also be delivered by speakers drawn from BAFTA’s nominees, winners and members, with content covering more detailed craft and technical areas.
Over the course of the programme, we will cover creative, technical and operational topics across departments.
Through a closed social network, participants are able to share experiences, ideas and knowledge with fellow BAFTA Crew members building relationships with colleagues at a similar level in the industry.
