Live Interviews

Twenty Twelve in conversation with Boyd Hilton Boyd Hilton and the cast of Twenty Twelve - Latitude 2012
BAFTA/ Jamie Simmonds

The BBC comedy/ mockumentary series charts the trials and tribulations of the Olympics Deliverance Committee, paddling hard beneath the surface to deliver the Games on time and on budget.

We were delighted to welcome actors Amelia Bullmore, Morven Christie, Vincent Franklin, Karl Theobald, Jessica Hynes, writer/director John Morton and producer Catherine Gosling Fuller to answer questions following the screening.

Edith Bowman sat down to have an in depth discussion with Abi Morgan, one of the most successful and prolific screenwriters working in film and television. As well as penning Thatcher-biopic The Iron Lady, she co-wrote the controversial hit Shame with Steve McQueen. Her work for TV includes the acclaimed BBC Birdsong adaptation and The Hour.

Ben And Lump
Ben & Lump

Ben & Lump

Written by Tom Wells and directed by MJ Delaney, Ben & Lump follows Ben (Lewis Reeves) as he returns home from his first term at university. His best friend Lump (Thomas Turgoose) can't find a job and his dad insists he join the army; the holiday season forces the friends to acknowledge the different directions their lives have taken. Part of Channel 4’s 'Coming Up' series showcasing new writers and directors.

Ill Manors
BAFTA/ Francesca Foley

Ill Manors

Ill Manors was written and directed by Ben Drew, better known as Plan B, and stars Riz Ahmed, Natalie Press, Anouska Mond and Ed Skrein. The film focusses on six core characters and their circles of violence, as they struggle to survive on the streets. Narratively linked through original music from Plan B himself, the film is a ground-breaking, visually stunning and gripping experience, laced with streetwise humour.

Me and My Latitude
BAFTA/Caroline Bridges and Sameer Patel

Me and My Latitude

BAFTA and Festival Republic bring you a very special screening of films from its 'Me and My Latitude' project – a unique collaborative initiative held in 2011 designed to nurture, support and provide a platform for emerging filmmaking talent in the UK. Short documentaries were captured on film by Sameer Patel (of visual poet Sabrina Mahfouz) and Caroline Bridges (of dance troupe Lost Dog).

Screenwriters' Lecture Series - Charlie Kaufman

Charlie Kaufman Screenwriting Lecture

Charlie Kaufman's screenplays for films like Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Synecdoche NY have earned him a wildly enthusiastic following and a reputation for heartfelt, bold and experimental writing. This already-famous screenwriting lecture is as inventive and as honest as his films: an absolute must-see for anyone creative and human.
