BAFTA Christmas Hospice Screenings 2012
06 February 13
A series of film screenings for children with life limiting conditions held throughout the UK before Christmas 2012.
Made possible by the fundraising efforts of five BAFTA members who ran the 2012 Virgin London Marathon, in December 2012, BAFTA continued their UK-wide series of special screenings for children with life limiting conditions and their families. These screenings, exclusively for the children and their families, are in partnership with local children’s hospices, with support from our venue partners Cineworld, Giant Screen Birmingham and UK distributors.
Each event was specially created with the needs of the families in mind, with venues being made exclusively available to our guests in order that the families feel comfortable in their surroundings. All venues are fully accessible and all events included refreshments for the families in addition to interactive lobby games and activities for the families to create a really special, fun day out, including a visit from Santa Claus in Sheffield!

Feedback
“Hello, just wanted to say how great it was today, the welcome, the organisation and in particular the Father Christmas was exceptional. He totally engaged with my son who cannot speak or move but is mentally aware. He spent time talking to him and held his hand and really was just wonderful. We loved the film too. We don't go to many events as its stressful and often upsetting, coping with lack of equipment and assistance and feeling 'in the way' or a burden, but this morning/afternoon was a really positive experience, thank you.” - Parent, Sheffield
"It was great to be part of it as usual….and a pleasure. Thanks to you and the team from BAFTA for all your hard work.” - Staff member, Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham
“Quality film and entertainment for the children.” - Parent, Birmingham
“A huge thank you for the great time me and the kids had today at the Tinkerbell screening. I was very impressed with how the day was run from the ease of getting tickets to the nice touches that were put in place for the children.” - Parent, Sheffield
