Young Game Designers

BAFTA is passionate about providing opportunities for young people in the games industry.  Each year the BAFTA Young Game Designers Awards (YGD) in association with the Nominet Trust inspires 10-18 year olds to try their hands at game design, in the process learning more about the games industry and how to find a place within it.  

Funding received from Nominet Trust has enabled us to reach out to schools in areas of deprivation in the UK and develop learning materials for teachers to use in class. The materials have been specially designed with UKIE, Code Club and STEM ambassadors to inspire teachers and encourage young people to take up STEM subjects through game design and making.
