Tom's Story

Tom Barnes, from Reading, received funding towards continuing the MComp in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music in London. 

His mentor was composer Maggie Rodford (Harry Potter, Cinderella) and he has now graduated the Royal College of Music with a distinction.

Here is what Tom has said about the impact of his Scholarship:

"Not only have BAFTA made it possible for me to study, but through my mentorship I have learnt huge amounts about the industry now I’m heading into it. I feel a more confident composer because of Maggie’s help. I’ve also met producers and directors through the BAFTA network, as well as other composers, which hopefully will lead to working on exciting and larger projects."
