BAFTA receives funding to provide much needed talent development projects in the regions. BAFTA Scotland with Skills Development Scotland has created Career Close Up a programme of live masterclasses set up tp specifically support career starters who have graduated from a screen or broadcast related course at a Scottish college or university since 2014 and are still looking for a break in the industry.
In 2016 we had the following high profile practitioners deliver masterclasses: Directing Drama with Brian Kelly / Producing/Directing Factual with Sarah Howitt / Editing Factual with Bill Gill (in Inverness) / Game Development with Colin Anderson (in Dundee) / Screenwriting with Louise Ironside / Location Management with Lloret Dunn / Production Design with Stephen Bryce.
"Just wanted to say the event was fantastic and I loved it took place in such a small group as it allowed us to make the most of it and ask many questions. I felt I learnt more during these 2 hours than I would by attending TV/Film production course.” Participant, Career Close Up
