David Lean Room

A versatile space that lends itself to a range of occasions, with an abundance of natural daylight and built in projection facilities

Befitting the accomplishments of one of cinema’s true greats, the David Lean Room lends itself to a myriad of functions. Gala dinners, weddings, press launches, business conferences, presentations; a host of possibilities awaits.

The elegant and spacious proportions of the David Lean Room and Foyer Bar offer full floor-length windows that flood the space with natural light and offer views of Piccadilly and the Southwood Garden and Christopher Wren church of St. James’s, with historic Jermyn Street’s renowned tailors and high-class specialised shops lying beyond.

Up to 180 seated or 260 standing guests can be accommodated comfortably, with a discreet sliding wall revealing additional capacity in the stylish Foyer Bar. Here you will find a private, permanent collection of photography from some of Sir David Lean’s most famous films, which include Doctor Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia and The Bridge on the River Kwai.

The area is fully equipped with high-definition digital screens and PA sound systems, and can be transformed into a theatre, dining room or dance floor with ease.

The David Lean Room is often used in conjunction with the Princess Anne Theatre for pre or post-screening drinks or dinner, or as a lunch venue for presentations. Whatever the occasion, BAFTA 195’s outstanding food and drink will match the mood, from delightful canapés to lavish taster menus.
